Research
Using behavioral and electrophysiological methods, research in the Cognition and Aging Lab broadly focuses on how social, motivational, and self-perceptions shape memory and learning across the lifespan, and how targeted strategies can reduce cognitive and educational barriers for both older adults and students. Our lab's current research program focuses on three main lines of inquiry:
Memory and Aging
Investigating how social and motivational context influence attention and memory across the lifespan using behavioral and EEG methods.
Self-Perceptions of Aging
Studying the role of self-perceptions of aging on older adults' memory with and without cognitive impairment.
Barriers to Learning
Examining methods to improve students' knowledge and performance both in and out of the classroom.
